I'm a soccer mom now!

We registered Ben for soccer this morning (we got lucky, it was the very last day of late registration). He was given the choice between soccer & t-ball since he dropped kickin' gym after losing interest in karate. Honestly, I only signed him up because he didn't get into morning pre-k and he had to go somewhere while I went to gym class with Brinley.
He's very excited and begged to wear his new jersey to school today...so we'll see how this goes.

Cookie secret

I had a parent send a note (via Ben) asking about the cookies! Apparently his daughter loved them and he wants to know what kind they were or the recipe...I'm so busted because they were made with Pillsbury sugar cookie dough that I just rolled & cut!
Lol - hey, gotta take some short cuts : 0
The good news is he can easily make them too!

*** I had a few questions to address:

After I made the reindeer cake pops & felt like a weirdo because I was the only one who made something...I did verify with the teacher & principal that there is no rule about homemade food in the classroom, I'm just the odd mom out. I figure if my kids are gonna eat junk, it should at least be junk made with love :)

And no I didn't attend the party - I think it was a low key celebration because we never were invited really but I'll be there (with cake pops!) for the Valentine's Day party next week...if I don't go into labor.

Change is coming

While I was sitting at the desk (on the computer, of course) Brinley decided she wanted in my lap. I don't have a lot of "lap room" these days so she was sitting right against my belly and felt a kick. She looked down confused so I explained it wasn't me but the baby kicking her. She said "if he kicks me again, he's going to be in trouble, right?" lol.
Oh, little girl...your world is about to change!

How did I let this happen???

I swear on Friday, before my mom & sis arrived I was all caught up on laundry! A couple days with family, a couple of days being sick...
now this.Luckily everything in this picture is clean (I didn't take a pic of the giant dirty pile in my bathroom :0)
Laundry is the one chore that doesn't bother me & I always fold straight from the dryer but I was desperate because I remembered all Ben's jeans (along with Bryce's scrubs) were still in the washing machine! Yikes! I had to empty the dryer quick.
My poor husband was running around looking for some scrubs to wear to work this morning (all in the washer - he found some in a storage bin to wear = wife of the year award out the window, haha) but at 6:15 am, instead of doing laundry, I was working on 24 of these...
They didn't really turn out like I expected although, I've never made "100" cookies before and didn't have a plan so not sure what I expected.

Whatever - they're big & frosted so the kids will like them :)

Gotta get back to the laundry now.

Moving up

My little girl is moving up - today was Brinley's first day in the solo (no mommies) 3 year old gym class. She's not 3 yet so of course she's the smallest but she did pretty well. Her biggest problem is staying on task and not running off but she's with Coach Sherry who she really likes so she was totally comfortable with me not being there (well, I'm watching thru the glass). Where did this little firecracker come from? So not like me as a little girl. I actually admire her...and I hope she never loses it!

Then we made a quick trip to Hobby Lobby for cookie cutters because somehow I volunteered just this morning to make cookies for Ben's 100th day of school celebration tomorrow : 0

And, yes after picking Ben up at school, I did get the rest of my shopping done :) Not bad for a sickly (actually I'm feeling better today) extremely pregnant mommy, huh?
Well...we are having pizza for dinner though, haha.

My shopping list...

These empty packages were left on the counter for me this morning...
Contact lense solution, face wash, bread & oatmeal.
Thanks for the reminder, honey!I guess he knows better than to tell me I need to go to the store, haha.
Actually we have both contact lense solution & oatmeal already.
And I did make it by Walgreen's yesterday after picking up Ben from school, unfortunately besides milk, it was all self serving...crackers & gatorade for me and well, the baby.
We'll see if I get the rest of my shopping accomplished today...

OB check up

I missed last week's appointment but made it today despite my misery. I haven't been able to eat much since lunch Saturday - you name it...dizzy, nausea, tired, contractions, back pain, slight drop in blood pressure.

Anyway, I figured out today that I have the same tummy virus the kids just got over! Duh! I thought it was just me being 9 mos. pregnant and I was gonna demand to be induced, haha.

Check up was fine - BP 100/60, lost a pound, dehydrated but other than that, it's all good. Drink gatorade. Eat crackers. Stay near a restroom.
Next week...the physical exam!! Let's see if these contractions are doing any good.

OKC Zoo

Saturday was really nice - a bit chilly by the time we made it to the zoo (after naps!) but still sunny and after being cooped up all week, we needed a day out.
Sooo glad I had help this time, because unlike at Thanksgiving, I could not have done it alone : )
Aunt Lindy & Ben checking out the crocodiles below... Brinley on a gorilla - they have statues everywhere & the kids love to climb on them.

We went thru an exhibit "Oklahoma Trails" that the kids and I missed last time. Bryce told Ben he was going to put him in with the bears...this is Ben refusing to get out of the stroller!

Daddy & Brinny in front of the waterfall.

An almost family shot...Ben still refused to get out of the stroller, lol.
Check out how low my belly is!

This one I just liked because the waterfall & ice.
